Watch out for how “citizen” is defined

I recall that one hesitation I had was that the law redefined what an American citizen is and seemed to allow those currently w/i the US to be defined as citizens even if having entered illegally. Seemed like an undercurrent way of giving citizenship to illegals. The bill needs to be fully and carefully read

And make a small notation in the mix “can only count on census as well”. This way we eliminate the blue state body count advantage.

And the house GOP will be the very ones who make sure it fails! This is the garbage they do to make it look as though they are doing something! Introducing bills they know won't pass, it's as old as most of the GOP!

Call your representatives and let them know you want this bill passed. Yes, it means taking a risk for those of us who live in Demoratic states but if you know anything about the Jewish people and the events leading up to and culminating at Auschwitz, you understand the risk. Not doing so might forestall the inevitable but eventually we who are not willing to accept autocratic rule in addition to giving up our rights and freedoms under the constitution will assuredly end up in similar circumstances as well.

At least one state in the union requires a birth certificate, photo identification, marriage and divorce certificates (if female), social security number, and two forms of mail just to obtain a driver’s license in that particular state. I can see that it needs tightening up with some states allowing illegal aliens to receive genuine driver’s licenses but am curious as to other potential arguments against it.

In my opinion Lex Greene makes the important points of reading the entire bill first and be wary of how “citizens” is defined.

The previous bill allowed all people populating the US to be considered a US citizen with the passage of the bill. This would allow all illegals currently in the US to be legal citizens. This disenfranchises American voters. I’m not sure if it’s in this bill but if it is it must not be passed

As far as I can tell, the bill seeks to ensure only legally registered American citizens vote. Not unlike the state that requires unbelievable (especially for women and/ or citizens with name changes) amounts of paperwork, it seems to do the same. And yes, gathering all of that paperwork, applying for a copy of a new birth certificate due to discoloration and fold marks, and needing to wait long enough to receive a bank statement is a pain and very frustrating but it’s either that, drive illegally, or don’t drive at all. If something is important to you, a little momentary hassle, cost, or waiting time is worth it.

How many people are willing to wait in line for hours to attend a concert or sports event, get into a popular bar or restaurant, or wait for the doors to open in order to purchase that special Christmas present their child wants? It’s a pretty small price to pay to live in America, as far as I’m concerned.
