NC Supreme Court Rejects Voter Integrity Challenge in 'Razor-Thin' Election Race
"The court ruling dealing a blow to Griffin’s attempt to verify over 60,000 votes that lack a driver's license number or the last four digits of a Social Security number."
The North Carolina Supreme Court has ruled that tens of thousands of ballots cast in the unresolved state Supreme Court race between Democrat Allison Riggs and Republican Jefferson Griffin will remain in the count.
The court ruling dealing a blow to Griffin’s attempt to verify over 60,000 votes that lack a driver's license number or the last four digits of a Social Security number.
“Accordingly, we cannot agree with the Court of Appeals that the Board erred by counting their ballots,” the majority wrote, siding with Riggs on the largest category of disputed votes—those missing certain ID information due to alleged Election Board errors.
Griffin, who trails Riggs by 734 votes out of more than 5.5 million cast, had challenged ballots across three categories.
The high court agreed with him on two smaller categories, including certain overseas and military voters who failed to submit photo ID or an exception form, and individuals who have never lived in the U.S. but claimed eligibility through parental ties to North Carolina.
The State Board of Elections said the decision means “certain military and overseas-citizen voters... must now provide a copy of their photo identification, or complete a Photo ID Exception Form,” and have 30 days to do so.
Griffin’s campaign stood by the ruling. “Today’s order is consistent with what we asked in our initial filing,” said spokesperson Paul Shumaker.
There is a lot at stake in the North Carolina judicial election. If Riggs is able to win the seat, it will be another progressive judge on the bench who is sympathetic to the Soros agenda.
While there is no direct, public evidence tying Riggs personally to George Soros or his Open Society Foundations, the SCSJ has received support from progressive donor networks that sometimes overlap with Soros-backed initiatives. Soros is a prominent figure in funding leftist causes, donating millions through his foundations to groups advocating for voting rights and social justice—issues central to SCSJ’s mission.
A Data Republican search shows that SCSJ is connected to the Soros-backed Tides Center through the American Muslim Advisory Council.
Riggs was initially appointed to the North Carolina Court of Appeals in January 2023 by Governor Roy Cooper, a Democrat, and then elevated to the Supreme Court in September 2023 to fill a vacancy left by Justice Michael Morgan’s resignation.
It is critical that Americans stop putting NGO-connected judges on the federal bench.
The case, now back in federal court, keeps the nation’s only unresolved 2024 race in limbo.
Unverifiable is un certifiable! Can’t accept anything less!
Military votes would mostly be for Griffin, the ones claiming NC parentage probably younger & for Riggs.
